Under license from Turbomeca (currently known as Safran Helicopter Engines), Continental Aviation and Engineering (CAE) originally produced the Teledyne CAE J69. The small turbojet engine was a development of the Turbomeca Marboré II. Despite its size, the J69 engine was the main power source of several U.S. drones, missiles, and small aircraft. Teledyne CAE later gained rights to the production of the J69 turbojet. It was also developed into the Teledyne CAE J100 engine, which was optimized for operation at higher altitudes.
